Situated on a 1,300 acre farm estate, just outside the centre of Cornhill-on-Tweed, Stewards Bothy is a single-storey stone cottage with walking and cycling routes on the doorstep. Ideal for a family or couple looking to explore Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. Guests should note that there is only one bedroom sleeping two, with a sofa bed in the living room for additional guests.
Centred around a private courtyard, the cottage benefits from an outside seating area with wonderful views across the estate. Just a five-minute walk away is a picturesque lake, where guests can enjoy complimentary carp, perch, pike, and trout fishing during their stay.
The estate also offers horse riding at its on-site equestrian centre, and livery facilities are available for guests wishing to bring their own horses on holiday.
The farm is primarily arable, growing a variety of crops, while also supporting a herd of cattle. Managed using traditional farming practices, the farm balances productivity with sustainability, creating a thriving habitat for an abundance of wildlife.
Guests are welcome to explore the entire estate, with a network of trails and picnic spots providing opportunities to enjoy the beautiful grounds.
Northumberland’s charming coastal villages and attractions are all within easy reach including Berwick-on-Tweed, England’s most northerly town with a turbulent Anglo-Scottish history; Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve, and Bamburgh Castle overlooking a vast, sandy beach.
East Learmouth is also well placed for Northumberland National Park, Hadrian’s Wall, and Coldstream and Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders.
Cornwall-on-Tweed, which has a village store and a Grade II listed pub serving food, is a 20 minute walk or a 5 minute drive.
