A farm stay is a great choice for a holiday giving you the chance to stay in some of the most beautiful parts of the UK, while being in the heart of rural life. Often set in the quieter parts of a working farm, a lodge is ideal for families or those who find ground floor accommodation easier.
While period farmhouses and cottages offer rustic charm and history, for some they aren’t always the practical choice with hard floors, low beams, open fires, and steep, winding staircases.
A lodge, on the other hand, tends to come without the quirks found in other farm accommodation, as well as modern amenities, giving you a comfortable home-from-home with much less to worry about, particularly if you are travelling with children.
Our collection of farm lodges range from rustic log cabins to more contemporary designs, meaning they suit a wide range of budgets and travel styles whether you’re looking for space to spread out as a family or a romantic retreat for two.
Many farms position their lodge in open fields, wildflower meadows, or woodland away from the main farmyard or animal barns which means you can still get a taste of authentic farm life without the noise, and in some cases, smells, that come with it.
You’ll also find plenty of lodges with floor to ceiling windows or large French doors giving you uninterrupted views of the surrounding countryside, while a deck or veranda seamlessly brings the outside in.
After a day out exploring the countryside or meeting the farm animals, a lodge with a hot tub is a fantastic place to return to. Light the barbecue or fire pit, pour a glass of bubbly, and enjoy an evening soaking up the countryside as the sun sets over the surrounding fields.
Ideal for couples, families, and groups of friends, a farm stay in a lodge is a comfortable and practical way to enjoy rural life.
Whether you’re looking for an affordable countryside break or a luxurious cabin with all the mod cons, a lodge offers a flexible alternative to traditional farm accommodation. Many are also dog friendly too, making them suitable for everyone to join the adventure.
