Situated in the village of Lorton just five miles from the centre of Cockermouth, Whiteside is a well-appointed lodge set on a dairy farm in the heart of the Lake District National Park. Ideal for a family or couple looking to explore the stunning mountains, valleys, and lakes in the surrounding area.
Outside, the lodge benefits from a private veranda with wonderful views over the farmland towards the fells.
Guests are welcome to explore the farm and meet the cows, chickens, and a friendly goat There is also a well-stocked rainbow trout fishing lake in the grounds, which guests are free to enjoy. With its panoramic views, it’s also a lovely place for a picnic.
The popular market town of Keswick is a 20 minute drive away and has plenty to offer visitors at any time of year. Lying at the northern end of Derwentwater, the busy high street has a good range of independent shops, restaurants, and pubs, and hosts a weekly market. It also has a miniature golf course, excellent parks and gardens, and the famous Theatre by the Lake just a five minute walk from the town centre.
