The Loft is a beautiful first-floor apartment set within a converted barn on a small working farm in the village of Goring-on-Thames. Located on the Oxfordshire border with Berkshire, it has been thoughtfully renovated to provide stylish accommodation for couples or solo travellers looking to explore the quintessential English countryside in this beautiful part of the world.

Tucked away in a peaceful rural setting, The Loft is reached via a flight of oak stairs leading to a glazed door that opens into the open-plan living space. Guests are welcomed with a generous hamper of homemade treats and a bottle of wine, thoughtfully provided by the owner.
Inside, solid wood flooring, white-painted walls, neutral décor, and gently sloping ceilings create a space that is both cosy and bright, filled with natural light. The compact yet well-equipped kitchen has oak worktops and modern appliances, ensuring everything you need to make cooking a pleasure. A breakfast bar is a comfortable place to dine and is also the perfect spot to enjoy a drink while meals are prepared.

The sitting area has comfortable seating arranged around an electric-effect wood burner, adding warmth and atmosphere on cooler evenings. French doors open onto a Juliet balcony, framing magnificent views across the surrounding farmland. After a day exploring nearby villages and market towns, it’s a wonderful place to return to, put your feet up, and unwind with a glass of wine.

The accommodation is completed by a charming bedroom designed with rest and relaxation in mind, along with a sleek en-suite shower room to start the day refreshed.

Outside, a balcony at the entrance provides a sunny spot to sit and watch life on the farm, home to a small flock of Welsh Halfbred sheep and free-range chickens wandering the grounds. There is also a pretty patio with a barbecue for al fresco dining, as well as an acre of beautifully landscaped gardens to explore. Manicured lawns, mature trees, and flower-filled borders attract an abundance of wildlife, while birdsong fills the air. Guests are also welcome to walk through the farm where they will discover a wildflower meadow and small vineyard.

Goring offers a range of dining options, from traditional pubs to contemporary eateries, along with independent shops and a local grocer. It also makes a wonderful base for enjoying everything the River Thames has to offer, including walking, cycling, fishing, and boating, with many historic country houses nearby to visit.
