Arranged in an “upside down” layout to make the most of the lovely rural views, the spacious granite cottage has been thoughtfully furnished to create light and airy accommodation. Guests should note that due to the age of the building some of the ceilings are sloping with restricted height, and one of the double bedrooms has a walk-in shower that is open to the room.
Outside, a decked balcony with views towards the sea overlooks the farm, home to stables and grazing horses. There is also a secluded, enclosed garden with outdoor dining furniture, a barbecue, and plenty of safe space for children and dogs to enjoy.
The cottage is perfectly placed for exploring North Cornwall’s stunning coastline. Nearby Hayle is a haven for nature lovers with an RSPB reserve sitting in the river’s estuary. Comprising saltmarsh, mudflats, and tidal lagoons, the reserve attracts thousands of wetland birds including shelducks, teal, curlews, oystercatchers, and Mediterranean gulls.
At St Ives, just a ten minute drive away, visitors can enjoy its vibrant arts scene with Tate St Ives exhibiting works by 20th century artists including Barbara Hepworth, Marlow Moss, and Patrick Heron. Leach Pottery is also well worth a visit, home to a studio, shop, and learning centre.
Other attractions within easy reach include St Michael’s Mount at Marazion, Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens, and Chysauster Ancient Village, one of the best examples of a Roman-British village in Britain.
Carbis Bay is within walking distance, with a beautiful stretch of white sand, clear turquoise waters, a watersports centre, and a small selection of shops, including a supermarket, and restaurants. The village also has a railway station with services to St Erth from where you can connect to the Cornish mainline for direct trains to Truro, St Austell, Bodmin Parkway, Plymouth, and Exeter.
