Daisy is a spacious glamping tent set on a picturesque working organic farm just outside the village of Ringstead. Positioned within a beautiful wildflower meadow, it provides a peaceful base for couples or families looking to explore the North Norfolk coast and surrounding countryside.
Inside, the tent feels bright and welcoming, with cheerful prints, colourful cushions, and soft rugs adding warmth and character, while solar-powered lighting and tealight candles create a cosy atmosphere in the evenings. Sleeping accommodation includes a comfortable double bed and two futon beds, all dressed with crisp linens and quilts for cooler nights.
Guests share a nearby kitchen cabin with four other tents, equipped with running water and everything needed to prepare light meals and snacks. There is also a shared shower block with hot showers and flushing toilets.
Outside the tent, a fire pit that doubles as a barbecue offers the perfect setting for outdoor cooking. Grill sausages for a leisurely al fresco lunch or toast marshmallows as the evening draws in and the stars appear overhead.
The organic farm grows beans and wheat for animal feed, wheat for milling, and barley for malting into beer. They are all grown on a six-year rotation system, alternating with red clover to naturally replenish the soil and maintain its health.
Alongside the arable fields, sheep and cattle from a nearby organic farm graze the wildflower meadows and clover fields during the summer months.
Conservation is at the heart of the farm’s management, with ponds, native woodland, and hedgerows providing important habitats, and since adopting organic farming methods and avoiding pesticides, the land has become a haven for wildlife. Visitors may spot brown hares, yellowhammers, corn buntings, quail, and partridges, as well as a variety of butterflies and moths.
There are two waymarked circular walks of around two miles and a longer six-mile route around the farm, all following public footpaths, along with several miles of permissive paths. The walks offer lovely views across the farm and surrounding countryside, which lies within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Along the way, two permanent pieces of land art by East Anglian artists can also be discovered.
Nearby Ringstead is an unspoilt rural village with a traditional 17th-century coaching inn famous for its collection of more than 100 gins. In winter, roaring log fires make it wonderfully cosy, while in summer the decked garden is a lovely place to sit outside. The village also has a well-stocked general store selling local produce, speciality foods, and everyday essentials. It’s also home to Hidden Treasures, a maze of rooms and cellars, filled with antiques, recycled pieces, and handcrafted gifts created by local artisans.
