Clarendon Annex is a charming thatched cottage set on a stud farm in the picturesque village of Teffont Magna. Tucked away in a secluded valley, it offers a peaceful rural retreat for couples or solo travellers looking to explore the beautiful Wiltshire countryside.

Inside, the compact yet well-equipped kitchen has plenty of storage and a full range of appliances for preparing home-cooked meals. A small dining table sits by the window, perfectly positioned to enjoy the wonderful views across the valley, the surrounding horse paddocks, and ancient woodland beyond.

Next door is a cosy sitting room with comfortable seating and prints on the walls depicting life on the farm. It’s a lovely space to unwind in the evening and relax with a glass of wine, feet up, enjoying a film.

Completing the ground floor is a contemporary bathroom, offering the choice of a bath or a shower.

Upstairs, reached via a spiral staircase, the bedroom is a peaceful retreat tucked beneath sloping ceilings, with a comfortable bed dressed in crisp linens to ensure a restful night’s sleep.

Outside, a pretty patio to the side of the cottage is a delightful spot for morning coffee or leisurely al fresco lunches. The farm is rich in wildlife, so keep an eye out for deer, hares, butterflies, and an abundance of birdlife, including birds of prey soaring overhead. There’s also an outdoor swimming pool which guests can make use of by arrangement with the owner.

The stud specialises in breeding sport stallions and sits within 50 acres of grassland where horses and foals can be seen grazing. A full livery service is also available, meaning guests are welcome to bring their own horse on holiday with them and enjoy the excellent hacking routes in the surrounding countryside.

Teffont Magna is a quintessential English village, home to a chalk stream, one of only around 200 in the world, a 13th-century church, and charming thatched cottages built from buttermilk-coloured Purbeck limestone, surrounded by weeping willows, climbing roses, honeysuckle, and wisteria. The area has many beautiful countryside walks, along with a handful of welcoming pubs within walking distance.
