Whiteshoot Farm is a beautifully restored thatched barn conversion set on a small New Forest farm dating back to 1829. Located in the peaceful village of Redlynch, the barn offers stylish, accommodation for families or groups of friends seeking a relaxed countryside escape.
Guests are welcomed with a generous hamper of local produce which includes local produce, wine from the Whiteshoot’s own vineyard, and a homemade crumble or pie, a thoughtful introduction to life on the farm.
Inside, the impressive main living space boasts a wealth of original features, with a vaulted ceiling, timber beams, and exposed stonework. Floor-to-ceiling glazed doors flood the barn with natural light, while flagstone floors and whitewashed walls provide a calm backdrop for the carefully chosen furnishings and rustic details.
The oak kitchen is fully fitted with modern appliances, including a built-in espresso centre for coffee lovers. Nearby, a large industrial-style dining table invites everyone to gather for relaxed meals and long conversations.
The lounge is a stunning focal point of the space, with deep red sofas arranged around a contemporary open fire. A beautiful rug anchors the space, while additional seating areas, including a small study, offer quieter spots to read or unwind, and a large aquarium adds an unexpected touch of interest.
Three bedrooms are located on the ground floor, each designed with comfort in mind with hotel-quality mattresses, crisp white linens, and soft blankets for cooler nights. One bedroom has its own en-suite shower room, while the others share a stylish family bathroom with a deep freestanding bath, perfect for a long soak at the end of the day. A handy cloakroom completes the ground floor accommodation.
A grand sweeping spiral staircase rises from the living space to a mezzanine level, where a fourth bedroom enjoys its own private bathroom.
Outside, a large garden surrounds the barn, with a terrace and outdoor seating providing a sunny spot for morning coffee or relaxed al fresco lunches. A hammock is a lovely spot for slow afternoons with a book, while children and dogs have plenty of space to play on the lawn. From May to September, guests can also make use of the heated outdoor swimming pool.
The farm itself is a joy to explore. Guests are welcome to wander the grounds, with a rowing boat and life jackets available for trips across the lake. Behind the barn lies a small vineyard and truffle orchard, where organised truffle hunts take place between September and January. There is even a treehouse with a low zip wire, designed with older children and adults in mind.
Redlynch is surrounded by beautiful forest and countryside, with countless walking and cycling routes leading into the New Forest. The village has a handful of takeaways and a welcoming pub known for its excellent home-cooked food, well-kept real ales, and carefully chosen wines. In winter, an inglenook fireplace glows with a roaring log fire, while in summer the pretty beer garden is the perfect place to sit outside. A convenience store is within walking distance, with further shops and supermarkets just a short drive away.
