The Stable is a charming barn conversion set on a working livestock farm in the rural hamlet of Milton, on the edge of the North Pennines. Peacefully located, the cottage has been carefully restored to retain much of its original character, with timber beams and exposed stonework adding warmth and charm throughout. It is an ideal rural retreat for couples or solo travellers keen to explore North Cumbria and the Scottish Borders.
All arranged on the ground floor, the accommodation is both comfortable and thoughtfully designed. The compact kitchen is well equipped with a range of appliances and everything you need to make cooking a pleasure. Next door, the cosy sitting room has a wood burning stove, a lovely spot for quiet evenings curled up with a good book or enjoying a favourite film. From here, doors open into a spacious conservatory with a dining table, allowing you to enjoy meals while taking in lovely views across the surrounding farmland, where cattle and sheep graze in nearby fields. The cottage is completed by a cosy bedroom and a bathroom offering the choice of a bath or a shower.
Outside, a pretty decked balcony provides a delightful place to sit with a glass of wine and watch the sun set. Guests also have access to a shared summerhouse with a hot tub, a wonderful way to end the day with a relaxing soak beneath starry skies.
The nearby market town of Brampton has a variety of independent shops and places to eat, from traditional pubs and fish and chip shops to friendly cafés. With a railway station just a mile away, getting around is easy if you prefer to leave the car behind.
