Cnwc Y Bran is a secluded stone barn on a 126-acre working farm of moorland and pasture, thoughtfully converted to offer comfortable holiday accommodation near St Nicholas, a picturesque village on the Strumble Head peninsula. Inside, the sitting room includes a cosy log burner set in a stone fireplace, the perfect spot to unwind with the family after a day exploring. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare a home-cooked meal with local produce. Large picture windows in each room frame wonderful views of the countryside and coast.
Outside, a terrace provides space to enjoy morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. With little light pollution, the night skies are often spectacular, and sunrises can be equally breathtaking.
Footpaths lead from the farm to nearby prehistoric sites, including a Neolithic cromlech dating from 3500 BC and an impressive standing stone. Nature lovers will appreciate the wildflowers and butterflies found in the low-lying moorland, while the Pembrokeshire Coast Path is within walking distance, where in autumn, you may spot baby seals resting on the rocks below the cliffs. The farm is also a fantastic place for bird watching and the RSPB reserves of Ramsey Island and Skomer are easily accessible from here.
The coastal town of Fishguard is a short drive away, with its quaint cottages, charming harbour, renowned gardens, Iron Age fort, and a good choice of places to eat and drink. Water sports enthusiasts can head to Abercastle for kayaking, diving, coasteering, and sailing. A little further afield, St Davids, with its historic Cathedral and Bishops Palace, makes for a memorable day out.
