A stunning stone cottage on a dairy farm, offering an extended family or group of friends stylish accommodation in the heart of the Scottish countryside. The cottage has been beautiful furnished and decorated with contemporary fixtures and fittings, while the cosy sitting room has an open fire to keep things warm on cooler days.

Outside Is where The Hawthorns really shines with a spacious lawned garden for children to play and dogs to run around, a terrace with a hot tub and sauna, and a fantastic games barn complete with fairy lights, a bar, and wood burning stove.

From the cottage, guests can watch the cows grazing in the fields and see them come and go from the milking parlour. The owner would also be happy to take guests around the farm and show children the newborn calves.

Stranraer has a 16th century castle, beautiful gardens, some fascinating museums, an attractive waterfront, and a good range of shops, pubs, and restaurants, while from the ferry port at Cairnryan, you can sail to Belfast in just over 2 hours.

Benefitting from the warmth of the Gulf Stream, the nearby coastline has rugged cliffs and some breathtaking walks. Luce Sands, one of the best beaches in the area, is about 6 miles away and has a vast stretch of sand sitting in a bay rich in marine wildlife including dolphins and porpoises.

Outdoor enthusiasts should head to Galloway Forest Park for excellent walking, cycling, and mountain biking, dark skies for star gazing, and the chance to spot deer, red squirrels, and wild goats.

Due to the remote location of the farm a car is necessary. There is a railway station at Stranraer with a direct service to Glasgow., and connections to Edinburgh and Dumfries.
