A traditional cottage on a family-run farm close to Snowdonia, Anglesey, and the Llŷn Peninsula
A well-appointed holiday cottage on a working dairy farm in beautiful countryside close to Snowdonia National Park. Best suited to families or groups of friends looking for a quiet coast and countryside escape.
Although the cottage forms a wing of the main farmhouse, guests are assured complete privacy, although the friendly owners are on hand should you need anything. The spacious kitchen, which also houses a dining table and a small seating area, is particularly bright and airy thanks to dual aspect windows and French windows which frame lovely views of the cows grazing in the adjacent fields.
Outside, the annex has its own private garden as well as a play area for children, and the farm which extends to 200 acres has lovely rural and sea views. The Welsh Highland Railway, runs through farm, passing through stunning scenery, the village of Beddgelert and onto Porthmadog. Guests can hop aboard at Dinas Station which is within walking distance.
For guests who want a hands-on farm experience, the owners would be delighted to show them the milking parlour with the opportunity to help with the cows being milked
Caernarfon, a 10-minute drive away, is a historic town with an impressive 13th-century UNESCO World Heritage castle, Royal Welch Fusiliers Museum, and waterfront views on the Menai Strait, Fishing trips depart from the pretty harbour, and the sandy beaches of Anglesey and the Llŷn Peninsula are within easy reach.
There’s no shortage of things to do in Snowdonia amidst the backdrop of stunning mountain scenery. Explore Coed y Brenin Forest Park on mountain bike, visit the National Slate Museum to learn about Welsh industrial history, or explore the colourful Italian-style village of Portmeirion on the coast.
It’s a short walk to the village of Bontnewydd, which has a pub serving excellent homecooked food, a fish and chip shop, and a general store where you can pick up essentials. Due to the farm’s rural location, WiFi can be patchy.
