With stunning views across the Ribble Valley, Cherry Tree Cottage is an immaculate holiday home arranged over three floors on a family-run working farm close to the picturesque village of Mellor. Bright and airy inside, the cottage benefits from contemporary interiors, a wood burning stove housed in a traditional red brick fire place, and five bedrooms all with their own en-suite facilities. Ideal for family gatherings or a group of friends. Guests should be aware that some of the upper floor accommodation has sloping ceilings and restricted height.
Outside, landscaped gardens have plenty of space for picnics and playing games, as well as a covered hot tub comfortably seating six guests. For those travelling with dogs, there is an outdoor washing station for muddy paws, and a doggy day care centre with a play field on the farm.
The farm, which has been In the same family for three generations, is home to sheep, cattle, alpacas, and chickens, and also has a livery stable for those who wish to bring their horse on holiday. Freshly-laid eggs are available to purchase from an honesty box.
Cherry Tree Cottage is well placed for exploring North West England’s countryside and coast. The Forest of Bowland, a haven for walkers and wildlife watchers, can be reached in just 20 minutes, with rugged gritstone fells, open heather moorland, upland blanket bog, deep river valleys, and ancient woodland to explore. The Yorkshire Dales is about an hour away, renowned for its lush valleys, dramatic limestone formations, waterfalls, dry stone walls, picture-postcard stone villages, and plenty of hiking routes ranging from easy to challenging.
For a day at the seaside, Blackpool is around a 40 minute drive. Beyond the vast golden sandy beach, clean water for swimming, world-famous amusements, funfair, and iconic tower, there’s also a water park, museums, aquarium, and a zoo, as well as plenty of shops, restaurants, cafes, clubs, and bars to suit all budgets and tastes .
Several welcoming country pubs serving food are within walking distance of the cottage, and Mellor has a village store and post office, but due to the farm's rural location, most other amenities and attractions require a car.
