This super-cool 1980s American Airstream has been cleverly transformed into a unique glamping retreat for couples looking to explore the beautiful South Devon countryside. Set on a working farm in the village of Kenn, it offers a stylish and surprisingly spacious escape surrounded by nature.
The gleaming silver caravan has privacy glass, roof fans, and central heating to keep things comfortable whatever the weather. Inside, the space feels bright and thoughtfully designed, with a compact but well-equipped kitchen and a custom-built sofa with a foldaway dining table set beside a cosy wood-burning stove. Retro speakers and a TV make it a great spot to relax with music, a good book, or a board game while enjoying views across the surrounding fields.
At the rear, a proper king-size bed is dressed in crisp linen and cosy blankets for cooler nights, as well as a sleek shower room with a double walk-in shower.
Outside is where this glamping stay really shines. A bespoke outdoor kitchen has a Belfast sink, pizza oven, and charcoal fire pit that doubles as a barbecue. Undercover bench seating with cushions and sheepskin rugs creates a relaxed space to linger, while a bistro table offers the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of your favourite tipple as sausages sizzle and pizzas crisp in the oven. A rustic table with log seating provides an alternative sunny place to dine outdoors accompanied by only the sound of birdsong.
A separate deck beneath a pergola, strung with twinkling lights, is home to a Hikki Swedish wood-fired hot tub, the ideal place for a long soak in the evening as the sun sets across the fields.
The farm itself has been in the same family for generations. In the past the owner’s father and grandfather milked sheep, grazed cattle, and supplied eggs to the village. Today a flock of sheep still roam the fields alongside horses, peacocks, chickens, guinea fowl, and the farm’s friendly dogs. There is even a bakery on site, so guests can enjoy freshly baked bread for breakfast and delicious cakes for afternoon tea.
The village of Kenn is within walking distance and has a welcoming café serving excellent coffee, all-day breakfasts, light lunches, and snacks, along with a small selection of everyday essentials. Just five minutes away is a picture-postcard thatched 12th-century country pub with a well-stocked bar, excellent restaurant, and a lovely beer garden.
Distances are calculated “as the crow flies”, so actual driving, cycling, and walking distances may differ.
