Whispering Leaves is a Scandinavian-inspired timber-framed lodge set on a picturesque farm estate in the village of Chewton Mendip. Designed with couples in mind, but easily accommodating four thanks to a comfortable sofa bed, it offers an idyllic countryside retreat, finished with a host of thoughtful, design-led touches.

Inside, a moody industrial-inspired palette with rich jewel-toned accents contrasts beautifully with the lodge’s clean, minimalist styling. The contemporary open-plan living space includes a fully fitted kitchen which, though compact, features indulgent extras such as a wine fridge and coffee machine. The living area is sleek and inviting, with floor-to-ceiling windows flooding the space with natural light and framing sweeping views across the surrounding countryside.

The bedroom leads directly into a luxurious spa-style bathroom with twin basins and a glass-enclosed double rainfall shower, allowing you to enjoy the panoramic vistas even as you shower. Fluffy towels, soft bathrobes, and luxury toiletries add an extra touch of comfort.

To the front of the lodge, a spectacular veranda framed by trees offers a wonderfully secluded setting. Here you can enjoy leisurely al fresco dining, soak in the open-air jacuzzi bath surrounded by nature, or relax with a glass of wine beside the wood burner as the sun sets over the fields.

The estate also has a range of facilities to enjoy at your leisure. Take a refreshing swim in the pool, ideal for steady laps or a gentle post-workout dip. The state-of-the-art gym is equipped with running machines, a stair climber and rowing machine, alongside a dedicated weights room. Towels, filtered water and a Smart TV are provided to ensure a comfortable workout.

Afterwards, unwind in the steam room or Swedish-style infrared sauna. Designed for two, these tranquil spaces are perfect for couples looking to relax, clear their minds, and simply enjoy a quiet moment together.

Guests are welcome to explore the estate with woodland walks and nearby hills offering sweeping views across the Mendip landscape. In warmer months, the landscaped grounds around the lake, home to ducks and moorhens, provide a lovely setting for a picnic.

Animal lovers will also delight in the farm’s adorable herd of pygmy goats, who are playful, curious, and full of character. You may also spot deer, badgers, hedgehogs, and buzzards around the estate, and, if you’re lucky, catch sight of the resident barn owls at dusk.
