A rustic chic cottage on a working dairy farm ideal for a couple looking for a peaceful coast and countryside escape.
A stunning rural retreat set on a working dairy farm deep in the beautiful West Wales countryside. Originally the dairy, the cottage is attached to the owner’s home, which dates back to the 1400s but was significantly rebuilt in 1718.
Packed with character, the property retains a wealth of original features, including oak beams, exposed stone walls, and flagstone floors. The interiors have been thoughtfully designed in a rustic-chic style, offering contemporary comfort while being sympathetic to the building’s heritage.
The spacious living area, once the farmhouse kitchen, has a large inglenook fireplace, complete with the bread oven, housing the old (non-working) range cooker. Alongside these period details, you’ll find a full range of modern appliances and plenty of comfortable seating.
Outside, a private patio sits beside a gently flowing stream, with a small bridge leading to five acres of grounds to explore, as well as a field where dogs can run around.
There are numerous walking and cycling routes directly from the doorstep, while Brechfa Forest, just a 15-minute drive away, is renowned for its excellent mountain biking trails. Around the same distance lies the National Botanic Garden of Wales, set within 560 acres and home to the world’s largest single-span glasshouse.
For a day by the sea, Tenby is less than an hour away, with a golden sandy beach, a lively harbour, colourful pastel houses, art galleries, and a great selection of independent shops, cafés and pubs.
The farm is secluded and accessed via narrow country lanes, and there are no amenities within walking distance. Please note that you are likely to be greeted by the owner’s friendly dogs on arrival.
