Situated on the edge of the South Downs National Park, Churchfield Stables is a stylish barn conversion on a small working farm. Well-equipped and finished to a high standard, the barn is ideal for a couple or solo traveller looking to explore Sussex’s countryside and coast.

Guests should note that the bedroom is on a mezzanine with a glass balustrade overlooking the living space, and exposed beams and a sloping ceiling means that height is restricted in some areas.

Outside, the cottage benefits from a sunny courtyard with seating where guests can watch horses in the livery yard and sheep grazing in the surrounding fields.

The South Downs is a fantastic destination for walking, cycling, and bird watching with historic estates, market towns, vineyards, and country pubs dotted among its rolling chalk hills. RSPB Pulborough, Petworth House, and Arundel are all less than half an hour’s drive away.

The Sussex coast has a diverse range of beaches, harbour villages, and seaside resorts. Walk the Seven Sisters Coastal Trail for spectacular views or spend the day in Brighton browsing The Lanes' quirky shops and boutiques before enjoying fish and chips on the pier.

West Chiltington is a sprawling village with a 12th century parish church, general store, and Grade II listed pub serving food. The village stocks and whipping post can still be seen, and there is also a restored smock mill, now used as a private residence.

Pulborough, just a 10 minute drive away, has a railway station with direct services to London Victoria (1 hr 30 mins) and Gatwick Airport (1 hr).
