Magnificent oak beams, vaulted ceilings and luxurious finishes make this two-bedroom cottage an extra-special countryside retreat in a beautiful vineyard setting nearby some golden sandy beaches. The genteel village of Beckley is nestled in the rolling East Sussex countryside, boasting a rich history forming a central part of the Wealden/East Sussex iron industry. Explore the fine, golden sand of Camber Sands, 11 miles away, stretching nearly 5 miles east of the village, with perfect conditions for windsurfing and kitesurfing. The Rye Mystery Treasure Trail, 7 miles away, tours around the cobbled lanes and medieval history of the beautiful town of Rye, enjoying the best views of Ypres Tower and out to the harbour. Take a walk back in time at Bodiam Castle, (9 miles) a 14th-century luxury fortress with spiral staircases, battlements and the castle's original wooden portcullis.
The cottage welcomes you into the open-plan living, kitchen and dining space, combining impressive vaulted ceilings, high-quality oak floors and wonderful exposed oak beams. The living area enjoys magnificent views of the surrounding countryside, complemented by a large, comfy sofa, two armchairs and a Smart TV. Behind, you’ll find a large wooden dining table and chairs nestled next to a cosy feature wood burner, leading into the contemporary kitchen, well-equipped with everything you may need to cater. You’ll find a handy freezer located in the garage. Back through the cottage, you’ll find a king-size bedroom with the same feature oak beams as the rest of the cottage, which also benefits from an en-suite wet room. A final cosy twin bedroom with more oak beams and an en-suite bathroom completes this well-presented, comfortable cottage. The cottage is set at ground level and is level throughout.
French patio doors in the living area open out onto a secluded brick patio for you to enjoy easy al fresco dining before exploring the acres of pastureland and vineyard beyond. The vines of the vineyard lead you through to two ponds, plus down to the River Rother at the bottom of the field. The approach to the vineyard is via over a mile-long private lane unsuitable for low suspension vehicles.
